CAPTURED

Wednesday, January 9, 2013

I was surfing JUX's gallery and was inspired by all the photos I laid eyes on, especially those with snow and cobble-stoned alleys.
It made me wish I had the time and means to travel the world, observe everything foreign and take snapshots of anything I find beautiful and strange.
But since I am stuck in this place, the least I could do is make-do with whatever's around and try to capture wonderful moments with my camera.

Above are some shots that I've uploaded recently on my photoblog :)

BACK TO BASIC

(see these photos HD on my photo blog)

To get away from the stresses of the urban life is what I yearned for after experiencing how its like living in concretes--having nowhere to go but malls, school, coffee shops, offices, and condominiums. After weeks of patiently waiting, I finally am reunited with the basics.  2 days have only been spent in the province but I feel the opposite, like as if I’ve been here for a week or so. Time flew slowly thus providing me more time to recharge/rejuvenate--power naps, forty winks, 1pm wake-up calls, you name it, I did it.

This province, which is 3 hours away from Davao, has made me slothful. There’s nothing here to disturb me. No schoolwork to finish, no blog-related phone calls, no deadlines to chase, no snoozing of alarms but just my dearest mother who wakes me up just in time for lunch.  Oblivious of the presence of time, I laze around, moving sluggishly like I haven’t done this for decades—which is true by the way!
This is life at its finest. Laid back, carefree and relaxed.

I reckon most of you are on a hiatus, taking advantage of the holidays in whatever way possible! As much as I wanted to be on a COMPLETE break from the world of blogging, I just can’t leave you guys with nothing to read on. So I thought of doing a post showing you the photos I took on my way to the place where I spent my first 3 years at. It’s rural, rustic and basic. Just the way I like it.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Hugs and Kisses,

Shoes: Chick Flick
photos by Rap Meting

My absolute love for vintage and anything old intensified after a day spent in Intramuros. (For my international readers, Intramuros is the oldest district in Manila, Philippines.) We ate lunch at this cafe in a hotel near San Augustin Church, I think it was uhm White Knight? and had a mushroom burger  and some home-made fries (see it on my photo blog). Walked around the streets too and took snapshots of antiques, old restaurants, guardia civils and foreigners who looked a tad bit irritated because of the humidity (like in this photo i took). It was indeed hot so decided to drive home (or was aiming to) around sun down when I got distracted by the heavy stoned wall. The noticeable discoloration looked beautiful from afar, like those tie-dyed fabrics that did nothing but catch your attention.
I asked Rap to take a photo of me and like the kind-hearted person that he is--trust me he doesn't know how to say no--he said yes despite the scorching heat of the afternoon sun piercing through his skin. (Thank you Rap for being patient with me! haha)
My old grannyesque sweater contrasted with the rustic wall, but the bag ahhhh...I'm quite unsure. It blended in! haha It looks okay nevertheless!
(By the way, wore the shorts yesterday for the Love Diva event. Still waiting for my readers to upload.)
Have a great night guys!

XX,
TWR
