Okay guys. It's Sunday and its blogging time for me! As much as I wanna laze around and watch TV instead of facing my computer and forcing my brain to extract some of its creative juices, I can't. Sundays always seem busy yet productive for bloggers. Speaking of, I was browsing a few of my favorite blogs a bit ago; fashion toast, oraclefox and my 2 recent discoveries jeangreige & fashionhedonism
I was beyond inspired, reading their posts and drooling over their accessories, not to say their exquisite fringe pieces! They all have such distinct styles, though they possess one thing in common: Their fashion has a bit of an Indian-American/Native influence to it. Which I glorify.

It's 3 PM and i have yet a party to attend to in 2 hours (I havent even taken a bath yet and I don't know what to wear!) So, I really got to rush. But I'm leaving you guys another Indian inspired outfit post.
I hope you like it!

By the way, it's the last day of my international Blog giveaway contest. You can join HERE.

This is my favorite among all.
 Gypsy bangles: Accessorize.
Feather necklace: DIY.
Skirt & top: Cat de Jesus

Photos by  Edric Chen

Hippie is one of the most creative styles I have ever seen. This outfit reminds me so much of the late 60's and early 70's. Not to say, the peaceful and distinct cult vibe to it.
I just hope one day, we all could relive it. Even just for a day or two.

I have always wanted to try wearing maxis after seeing one of my fave bloggers, Andy Torres, wear it on almost all of her recent posts. I thought I wasn't tall enough to do justice to the creator of long skirts, whoever you are. Nonetheless, I think it looked pretty cool.

With everything that has been happening in Japan,
I think we all should take some time to pause and send our prayers to the people who've been hurt and deeply lost.

DIY: Studded Boots

Monday, March 14, 2011

MY 2ND DIY PROJECT
"Want to add spice to your boots??"

I thought my boots looked rather dull so I did a little alteration after seeing a pair of Balenciaga a friend had showed me. I wanted it so bad that I couldn't sleep at night just thinking of it!
Inspired and motivated, I worked on my skills and with what I had to get the Balenciaga feel to my boots. I DIY'ed it.

I added studs instead of rivets to give a little rockstar feel to it. I also wanted to add chains in the opening but I thought it would be too much and that I might overdo it.
Hope you like it!

It's easy and very doable.
ENJOY!
FOLLOW THESE STEPS:
(refer to the photos)

1. Measure how far you want each stud from the other.
Mine was about 1cm apart
and I used 7 studs for each strap.

2. Mark the desired places by making small slits using a cutter.
You can also use scissors.

3. Punch the studs and make sure it went through the leather.

4. Using your pliers, fold the end of the studs
making sure all is well pressed.

5. Continue steps 3 & 4 until you have punched
 all the studs in place.

Isn't it easy? Try it!

Little Black Dress

DIY

This pose was inspired by Olivia H.'s look;

Will make a DIY post on this!

Feather necklace experiment

Black dress, F21. Feather necklaces, DIY. Studded boots, DIY. Sequined elephant bag, Bangkok.

My sense of style has always been bipolar. Sometimes I feel like going with what's mainstream and at times I dare to be unconventional. Just try to compare this look with the previous one. The  necklace (last photo) was something I made a few weeks ago. I saw this bundle of feathers in a random store and thought it was lovely so I bought it (85 php or about $2) and searched the internet for some inspirations. I liked how the the silver, brown and white shades gave details and spark to the simplicity of my little black dress.
The bag is from the night market in Bangkok. The sequins and patterns are very beautiful. Elephants are common there but in the Philippines, the closest we could get to having one is through Thai souvenirs.

This outfit was inspired again by local/native fashion but I ought to give it a little twist by choosing black instead of the traditional white which Indians usually wear with these types of accessories.
Hope you like it!

A Feature for NYLON kr

Wednesday, March 9, 2011

Im in Nylon Korea's March issue!
(I've always been a fan of Nylon. It's such a great opportunity to land in its pages! Thanks to Koun Bae btw.)
The page is all about layering accessories, and how you can wear them. I could not understand a single word though but you can check the article on their website and have Google Chrome translate it for you.
My name was spelled wrong. Cheysey? haha

Taylor Momsen happened to be on the cover. She is one of my favorite style icons! I often find inspiration from her ensembles. She wears leather and studs in precision!
She's definitely the epitome of glamrock.

DIY necklace

Tuesday, March 8, 2011

This is how it looks like. Like the vintage feel to the photo?

Okay, so this is my first ever DIY post! I've had numerous questions about my feather necklace and suggestions on doing a tutorial so i thought why not? I'll try my best to explain step by step though, but bear with me for I am a newbie. Alright?

What you need are the ff:
1. Pliers & scissors
2. Feathers
3. Pendants
I chose a dragonfly, cross and 2 saber teeth like pendants
4. Oxford cord
(you can use any cord of your choice)
5. small o-rings
(The one I used to attach the pendants to the hoops. See 1st photo)
6. Stainless steel wire
(Only for making stoneage-like pendants. Sorry I haven't included the photo.)

Steps:
1. Find a clean and big workplace
It's important to work somewhere roomy. One that lets you maneuver freely.
2.Prepare all the materials and lay it out neatly(see photo 3)
3. Measure how long/short you want the the necklace and cut the cord accordingly
I used a mixture of brown oxford cord (8 in) and chain (17 in). It depends really on your preference but make sure the length is enough for your necklace to fit your head.
4. Attach the cord to the hoop and make a knot (see photo 2)
You can also put 2 silver balls to each side of the cord. See how i did it on the last photo.
5. Attach the pendants including the feathers using the o-rings.
In order to get the uneven effect, i attached chains to some of the pendants.

There you have it! As easy as one, two, three.
