GRUNGE DAY

Sunday, September 29, 2013
Pants & Studded Boots: Terranova
Denim Button-down: Levi's
Sling Bag: SM Accessories

After the long wait, the sun is finally out! But unlike the scorching hot temperature this country usually experiences, today's weather was just right--somewhere in between sunny and gloomy. Which is the perfect chance to be in a pants-boots ensemble like what I'm sporting in this post!
I was opting for a 'grunge look'. Something that speaks both Taylor Momsen and Miley Cyrus. (The old Miley. Before the white tank & undies mania happened! haha But I still love her though...) So yeah, I paired the Team Manila tee with denim, leather & some studs. Hope you like it! :)
 Happy Sunday everyone!

FRESH

Graphic Tee: Team Manila
Skirt: Terranova
Sling Bag: SM Accessories
Leopard Sneakers: H&M

A bright skater-inspired look to match the clear skies last Saturday in Clark Pampanga.
Looking how fresh the photos are makes me miss the sun so much. It's sad that in Manila rain has been pouring for the past days. I just wish the sun will come gleaming behind the white fluffy clouds soon enough for me to take lively photos like these again.
Anyway here's another laid-back ensemble wearing one of my favorite tees from Team Manila! It's very casual that anybody can definitely pull it off. No doubt about that! :)

Hope everyone's safe! Happy Monday guys!
By the way, SM Accessories and I are giving away 2 tickets to THE KILLERS concert happening this Thursday!

WEARING OUR OWN

Monday, September 16, 2013
EDSA Boyfriend Tee: Team Manila
Tights: Terranova
Booties: Forever21
Bag: Bazaar Find
Denim Jacket: Vintage

It's already halfway through September so before it ends, let me take this chance to tell you I am Team Manila's chosen blogger of the month! I have always liked supporting locally made products (T'boli accessories as hard proof) and to wear pieces that are designed and made by my fellow Filipinos is something I am truly proud of. Team Manila is one brand I believe in. I honestly think it is brilliant enough for them to continually promote Philippines by incorporating the Filipino culture to art & fashion--as evidently seen in their statement shirts.
Mine has EDSA printed on it. Very Philippines, indeed.

For the next days, expect to be seeing more wearable go-to ensembles like this (and the previous post) on my blog. Most people think shirts are dull, like there's nothing much you can do with it, but I want to prove the contrary. Shirts maybe simple but you are definitely NOT limited to one style. There are actually many you can play with--skater, campus, rock chic and vintage just to name a few!
I believe I have posted 3 ensembles wearing Team Manila shirts ( 1st, 2nd & 3rd) and this will be the 4th one. I hope by this time, you already have and idea of how you can play around with the different styles.

For today's look, I ought to  show you how a simple boyfriend tee could look so stylish when worn. I mean, who would have thought shirt + oversized denim jacket + boho bag could look so fierce? And then again like what I always say... it's just a matter of mixing and matching and finding the right accessories. This time, the booties & tights did the trick!

Hope you like it! :)

KEEPING IT REAL

Friday, September 13, 2013
I normally don't post face shots mainly because I hardly wear make-up in most of my posts since it looks unflattering for close-ups, but this will be an exception. I found the rawness & realness of the photo really alluring. It shows how haggard and tired I am but I strongly think sometimes transparent shots like this is more beautiful than those that are polished and edited.
Boyfriend tee: Team Manila
Moto jacket & pants: Terranova
OBEY cap: Trilogy
Heels: Charles & Keith

Alright.. There's so much to say but so little time so let me cut to the chase and tell you straight away how head over heels I am with this look! Aside from the fact that it speaks so much about the kind of style I praise--street wear and casual--it also reminds me of the good old days when my blog was still new and the outfits posted were  either laid-back or... hmm... okay it used to be laid-back all the way and nothing more.  lol

I'm not quite so sure if you've ever seen me in this type of ensemble (esp. with the cap), but just in case you haven't, let me take this opportunity to share to you how much I wore boyfriend tees and jeans back in college. See guys, in my old University shorts, micro skirts, skimpy dresses, sleeveless (anyything that has something to do with the phrase "showing too much skin") were strongly unacceptable. So even when the sun was scorching hot, we had no choice but to be covered. Basically in an outfit that's very similar to today's look. Only that this time sneakers were replaced by mid-heels and leather jacket wasn't an option at all! haha

Okay I think I talked too much already. Anyway, I hope you like the look as much as I do.
Have a great weekend guys! :)

TWR

DUTIES

Saturday, September 7, 2013

Favorite day of the week has come again and I've decided on spending it at home lying in bed as I work my best trying to finish all my 'blogger' duties before the clock hits 12 tonight.
First on my list? Online shopping! And above are my picks from Choies.comCurrently obsessing with achromatic colours, and black & white both seem to be overly appealing to my eyes lately!
By the way favorite's the high-waist striped shorts. How bout yours?

Happy Sunday guys! :)

FACIAL CARE

Wednesday, September 4, 2013
Long days spent running errands outside paired with late nights in front of my laptop both are now taking its toll on my skin. From looking healthy and vibrant, it has become dull and looking exhausted. Gentle scrubs and overnight creams didn't seem enough anymore, so when my schedule permitted me to, I paid a visit to SKIN at The Spa Wellness High Street and had a much-needed facial.
What's good is that the location's really convenient since it's just walking distance from my place and the feel of The Spa--interior and the calming ambiance--relaxes you the moment you step foot inside.

It was an hour session and every minute was soothing and calming--it made me not want to leave the room at all. I wish you could try how good it felt!
But for the mean time, let me take you to a visual experience and just let the photos make your imagination work.

When I walked in, I was welcomed by a cup of ginger tea (a The Spa signature) while I wait for my nurse attendant in their fancy lounge area.  Their signature skin facial was highly recommended--especially for my oily skin--so without thinking twice I went on and tried it.
I changed to my bathrobe, left all my worries behind and just let the experience take me away.

The procedure started with the nurse attendant cleansing my skin with a Chamomile cleanser which is known for its gentle purifying benefits. She then removed the excess oil by using this refreshing toner.

She then polished my skin with Honey Almond scrub and gave me such a good facial massage. It was so gentle I barely felt the little dots in the cream! Some spas/clinics use scrub which gives off that stinging after-feel, but the this one with the enzyme peel didn't feel like such at all.

After, a dermatologist came to the room and performed extraction. By extraction I mean cleaning your pores by removing white/black heads. Normally from all the facials I've tried, it's usually the therapist that does this procedure but I am delighted that SKIN provides a certified dermatologist to do it instead.

As soon as the extraction was done, the therapist came back with 2 packs of algae masks from a brand SKIN carries, Casmara. If you wanna read more about Casmara, click this
I was given the sensitive mask which was made of violet plant and oats. What's amazing is that the mask isn't like those we commonly know. This one starts of liquidy and dries off with a sillicon-like finish.
The mask can be re-used within 5 hrs as long as its stored in the fridge. They actually made me bring home mine and I used it again when I got home.

The mask left my skin feeling refreshed but it didn't end there. They topped it off with a serum and sunblock gel then followed by a 3-minute back massage.

The treatment was lovely from start to end. My skin didn't feel that usual slightly pricking sensation you get after. The whole experience was great and no doubt I will surely be coming back for more :)

Signature Skin Facial with Casmara Mask is available at SKIN Dermatology & Laser Center (inside The Spa Wellness at the Fort) B8, Bonifacio High Street BGC, Taguig.

WHITE RADIANCE

Monday, September 2, 2013
Denim Jacket, Bag & Shorts: G by GUESS
Shoes: Call It Spring
Necklace, Ring & Bangles: SM Accesories

So after my previous post which was different from my typical ensembles, I thought of going back to my usual and show you another of my laid-back outfits. I am a big sucker for denim paired with white lace and my heart just melted when I got my hands on the jacket and shorts. I opted for a look thats young and fresh. Something that reminds you of summer time in your teenage years.. D'you get the picture? So yeah,  I came up with this!
Perfect because have I mentioned? G actually is a brand of GUESS that caters more to the young and hip. In short, to people like me! haha
 Hope you like the look!
